Stubai Valley
in winter.

Always surrounded by a breathtaking mountain backdrop, you will find numerous opportunities to relax in your own individual way. Whether high up on the perfectly groomed pistes or down in the valley on one of the numerous winter hiking trails – in the Stubai Valley you are guaranteed to find something to make your heart beat faster. In addition, the Stubai Glacier ski area stretches from 1,700 m to over 3,000 m above sea level and therefore offers guaranteed snow all season long.

Four ski areas in the Stubai Valley offer skiers and snowboarders unforgettable experiences. The Stubai Glacier promises guaranteed snow from October to May, Schlick 2000 attracts visitors with rustic huts and descents right into the village, the Elferbahnen offer tobogganing fun day and night, and the Serlesbahnen are ideal for families and beginners. Majestic peaks and varied pistes offer a winter adventure for every level.

Wide slopes, narrow gorges and steep descents – the Stubai Valley has established itself as a true paradise for freeriders. The majestic Kalkkögel mountains in the Schlick 2000 provide an impressive backdrop for spectacular runs. The deep snow slopes on the Stubai Glacier are also waiting to be discovered. In the so-called Powder Department, 15 of the most popular runs are marked, which are easy to find thanks to an off-piste map and GPS tracks. Safety courses for freeriding are also regularly offered on the Stubai Glacier.

Whether with or without snowshoes: those who hike through the Stubai winter landscape in peace and quiet will experience nature with all their senses. The hustle and bustle of everyday life gives way to untouched nature on the 80 kilometers of cleared and well-marked trails.

In the Stubai Valley, Tyrol’s largest tobogganing arena, tobogganing fun away from the slopes awaits you. Experience 41 kilometers of pure fun on ten toboggan runs. The six-kilometre run from the Elfer to the center of Neustift is one of the longest in Tyrol and will delight all generations. Four floodlit runs also make night tobogganing possible. You can get to the start in comfort with the cable cars or the toboggan cab – sporty types can start their tobogganing fun on foot.

On over 40 km of trails at various altitudes, including the floodlit night trail, cross-country skiers can enjoy the wintry landscape and be active at the same time. Cross-country skiing is a first-class endurance training, where different muscle groups are used and balance and coordination are trained at the same time. At the same time, you can enjoy wonderful moments of peace and quiet, where all you can hear is your own heartbeat and the crunching under your skis, with incomparable views.

Away from the groomed slopes of Schlick 2000 or the ski area on the Stubai Glacier, you climb through dense spruce forests and across wide alpine meadows to the most famous mountain peaks of the Stubai Valley. Up there, you can enjoy impressive views of the neighboring Zillertal and Ötztal Alps before heading back down to the valley via deep snow-covered powder slopes. There are also numerous high-altitude tours above the Stubai Alps.
